Capacity and speed

The SanDisk Extreme PRO SDCZ820 is a USB-A flash drive offering 1TB of storage. It targets professionals who need to move large files quickly between compatible devices. Read speeds reach up to 1000MB/s while write speeds reach up to 900MB/s.

Performance headroom

The drive handles high-resolution media libraries and large project archives with USB 3.2 Gen 2 bandwidth. Transfers run up to 200 times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives. Performance will drop when connected to older USB 2.0 ports.

Build integration

A premium metal casing and integrated keyring hole let the drive clip onto a bag or briefcase for daily transport. The standard USB-A connector plugs directly into laptops, desktops or workstations without adapters. No external power or software installation is required.

Questions about this item

Will the SDCZ820 run at full speed on my older laptop that only has USB 2.0 ports?

It will work on USB 2.0 ports but speeds drop to the 2.0 limit; the 1000 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write rates need a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.

How can I verify the drive is delivering the advertised 1000 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write performance after I plug it in?

Run a benchmark tool such as CrystalDiskMark on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port; sequential read should approach 1000 MB/s and write 900 MB/s.

Does the SDCZ820 package include a USB-C adapter or cable, or do I need to buy one separately for newer laptops?

The drive has a fixed USB-A connector only; no adapter or cable is included, so a separate USB-A to USB-C adapter is required for USB-C-only ports.
