A 256 GB SDXC card rated U3, V30 and Class 10 for 4K UHD video and burst photography, with up to 170 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write speeds
The SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC card delivers 256GB of storage for cameras and camcorders that use the SDXC format. It carries UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), Video Speed Class 30 (V30) and Class 10 ratings, making it suitable for 4K UHD video and sequential burst photography. Read speeds reach up to 170MB/s and write speeds up to 90MB/s.
The card operates on the UHS-I bus, so sustained throughput cannot exceed the bus maximum even though the card is rated for 170MB/s read and 90MB/s write. Devices without UHS-I support will fall back to lower speeds, and host controllers that do not sustain U3 or V30 minimums may drop frames during 4K recording. Transfer times to a computer also depend on the reader's own UHS-I implementation.
Replacing a Class 10 or U1 card removes the bottleneck that causes buffer pauses during burst shooting or dropped frames in 4K UHD video. The jump is worth it when your camera requires U3 or V30 sustained write performance, or when you need faster offload speeds from the 170MB/s read rating. Cards below 64GB capacity or without U3/V30 markings will not meet the same recording guarantees.

The 256GB version stores more 4K UHD footage and high-resolution bursts before you need to offload, while 64GB and 128GB cost less and suit shorter sessions.
It is the maximum transfer rate the card can sustain when paired with a compatible UHS-I reader, so large 4K video folders move to your drive in less time.
UHS-I sets the bus protocol the card uses; the 170MB/s read and 90MB/s write ratings are achieved within that interface when the host device supports the same speeds.
