Transportable 4-bay hardware RAID

The SanDisk Professional SDPH34H-024T-NBAAB is a transportable four-bay hardware RAID enclosure built for content professionals. It provides 24TB of consolidated storage using enterprise-class Ultrastar drives inside. Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C interfaces connect directly to workstations for on-location and studio workflows.

Sustained multi-stream throughput

Hardware RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 configurations deliver transfer rates up to 1000MB/s read and 1100MB/s write for continuous operation. The system supports multi-stream 4K, 8K and VR workloads without relying on short-burst caching. Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports at 40Gbps and USB-C at 10Gbps maintain bandwidth during extended ingest and render sessions.

Replaces single-drive or software RAID setups

This enclosure replaces standalone drives or software-managed arrays that cannot sustain high concurrent streams. The jump is worth it when projects demand hardware RAID reliability, transportable 4-bay capacity and Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth for real-time editing. It is not for users who need only occasional backup or single-drive simplicity.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 4-bay enclosure run during all-day 4K editing?

The transportable chassis uses enterprise-class Ultrastar drives and hardware RAID; sustained workloads stay within the drives' rated thermal envelope and fan noise remains at typical data-centre levels.

Which host ports must my workstation provide for the 40Gbps Thunderbolt link?

A Thunderbolt 3 port or USB-C port supporting 10Gbps is required; the unit ships with the necessary cables for either connection.

Will the hardware RAID 5 array appear as a single volume to my older Thunderbolt 2 Mac via an adapter?

Yes — the enclosure presents one logical volume over Thunderbolt 3, so a Thunderbolt 2 adapter passes the array through without re-formatting.
