What this drive does

The SanDisk Ultra USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A flash drive provides 1TB of portable storage for documents, photos and video files. It is suited to students, office workers and anyone moving large media between computers with a standard USB Type-A port.

Installing and common issues

Plug the drive into a USB 3.0 or 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port; no driver installation is required on modern operating systems. Speeds will drop to USB 2.0 levels if the port or hub only supports the older standard. The supplied lanyard attaches to the loop on the casing to reduce the chance of loss.

Check before ordering

Verify that your computer has an available USB Type-A connector. Confirm that the 1TB capacity meets your storage requirement. The hardware AES encryption works with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, so ensure your device can run that software if you plan to use the security feature.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the drive is delivering the advertised up to 130MB/s read speed after setup?

Connect the drive to a USB 3.0 or 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port, then run a benchmark tool such as CrystalDiskMark or copy a large video file and compare the transfer time against the 130MB/s figure.

What is included in the box and what must I buy separately?

The package contains the 1TB Ultra flash drive and an OEM USB lanyard; no cable, adapter or software licence is included, and the SanDisk Memory Zone app is a free download.

Which capacity should I choose if I need to store high-resolution photos, MP3s, videos, presentations and graphic files?

The 1TB version provides the maximum space available in this Ultra series and is suited for large media libraries, while smaller capacities in the same line cost less but hold proportionally less data.
