16 GB USB 3.0 flash drive

This SanDisk Ultra Flair drive provides 16 GB of portable storage with a USB 3.0 interface. The metal casing adds durability for everyday carry. It suits users who need a compact way to move files between computers.

USB 3.0 transfer limits

The drive reaches read speeds up to 130 MB/s, letting you move a full-length movie in under 30 seconds. Write performance will be lower and varies with the host system. USB 2.0 ports cap throughput at the older standard's maximum.

Metal casing with lanyard loop

The all-metal shell resists knocks and scratches better than plastic bodies. An integrated loop accepts the included lanyard so the drive stays attached to a bag or key ring. The retractable connector removes the need for a separate cap.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 16GB capacity or a different size for this Ultra Flair drive?

This model is offered only in 16GB; if you need more space you would have to select a different product.

What does the 130MB/s headline speed mean when I copy files to the drive?

The 130MB/s figure is the maximum read speed; write speeds are lower and will vary with file size and the host system.

The drive uses USB 3.0 — what does that cap in practice?

USB 3.0 caps the theoretical bandwidth at 5Gb/s, so real-world throughput is limited by that interface and the drive's own controller.
