In-wall media enclosure for 17-inch installations

The SA-IWB17-W1 is a 17-inch in-wall box designed to house streaming devices, network switches and the Samsung One Connect box behind a wall-mounted television. Its white ABS plastic construction is Wi-Fi transparent so wireless signals pass through without interference. The enclosure creates a clean, concealed entertainment area while keeping equipment accessible.

Bundled hardware adds flexible mounting

Included are a trim ring, snap-on split cover, hook-and-loop strap, an extra mounting plate with 1.5 inches of elevation, and a cutting template with full instructions. Power knockouts let you route mains cables for the TV and mounted gear, while the elevated plate provides a second storage layer for larger devices. The split cover can be removed even when partially obstructed.

Suits installers hiding gear behind a single

This unit fits projects that need a single recessed cavity for media players and structured wiring. It does not serve buyers who need multiple separate enclosures, rack-mount depth for full-size servers, or an outdoor-rated housing. Anyone requiring a different colour finish or a non-recessed surface box should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the ABS plastic enclosure or the hook-and-loop straps need replacing over time?

The ABS plastic box and trim ring are fixed structural parts that do not wear out; the hook-and-loop strap can be repositioned or swapped if the fastener loses grip.

What is the deepest device the 3.97 in cavity can accept before the split cover will not close?

Internal depth is 3.97 in, so any component thicker than that will prevent the cover from snapping shut.

Does the Wi-Fi transparent ABS material or the enclosed design cause streaming devices to overheat during all-day use?

The ABS plastic is Wi-Fi transparent and the open-frame mounting plate allows passive airflow; no active cooling is included, so temperatures depend on the device’s own thermal design.
