They arrive new with flat terminals on both ends, measuring 15.8 mm long by 10.5 mm wide and weighing about 4 g per cell. The chemistry suits devices that need steady current from a very small form factor.

Flat-top fit for tight holders

Each cell uses a flat contact on both ends, so it sits securely in spring-loaded holders or solder tabs without protruding buttons. The 1/3 AAA length frees up space inside compact electronics such as cordless phones, medical sensors or remote controls where a full AAA would not fit. No charger is included, so the host device or a separate NiCd charger must supply the correct charge profile.
