It accepts the console’s native component output and delivers 720p or 1080p video plus digital audio over a single HDMI cable. A 3.5 mm jack mirrors the audio for headphones or external speakers. The adapter draws power from the Wii itself and requires no drivers.

Limited to Wii component input and fixed upscaling

The unit only works with the Wii’s component video connection; it cannot accept composite, S-Video or any other source. Output resolution is locked to 720p or 1080p with automatic recognition of NTSC 480i, 480p and PAL 576i modes. Some displays will not show 240p or 480i content over HDMI unless the Wii is set to 480p in its system menu. No on-screen settings or firmware updates are provided.

No external power supply needed

The converter operates entirely from the Wii’s AV port, so there is no separate power brick or USB cable to manage. This keeps the setup minimal for living-room or bedroom use. Buyers who need to capture or convert video from other retro consoles, PCs or set-top boxes will need a different device.
