Halogen T3 double-ended bulb

This 250-watt halogen lamp delivers 4500 lumens of warm white light at 2900K with a colour rendering index of 100. It uses a double-ended R7s base measuring 78mm and operates on 120-volt circuits. The clear finish suits fixtures where maximum output and accurate colour are priorities.

Sustained output and rated life

The filament maintains its rated lumen level continuously while powered, with an average life of 1500 hours under normal cycling. Surface temperature rises quickly and remains high during operation, so the lamp must run in a ventilated fixture rated for 250-watt halogen loads. Frequent switching does not reduce the stated hour rating.

Installation notes and common issues

Insert the lamp by aligning the recessed single contacts with the R7s socket; handle only with a clean cloth to avoid contaminating the quartz envelope. The 78mm length must match the fixture's fixed socket spacing exactly. Oil residue from bare fingers creates hot spots that cause premature failure.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 250 W halogen T3 produce when run all day?

At 250 watts the lamp converts most input power into heat; expect the fixture and surrounding area to become very warm during continuous operation.

What fixture or socket must I already have for the R7s double-ended base?

You need a luminaire with a 78 mm R7s recessed single-contact socket rated for 120 V and at least 250 W.

Can I use this 2900 K, 4500 lumen bulb in an older dimmer circuit designed for incandescent lamps?

Yes, the halogen filament works with standard leading-edge dimmers, but the 1500-hour life may shorten if dimmed frequently.
