Satco S28729 6W LED PL Lamp GX23 Base

The Satco S28729 is a 6-watt LED PL lamp with a GX23 two-pin base designed for ballast-bypass installation on 120-277 volt circuits. It delivers 600 lumens at a 5000K colour temperature with a frosted finish and a wide 360-degree beam angle. This Type B lamp suits commercial and residential fixtures where the existing ballast is removed or bypassed.

Sustained output over 50000 rated hours

Rated for 50000 average hours, the lamp maintains consistent light output during continuous operation without the warm-up delay or flicker associated with fluorescent alternatives. The ballast-bypass design eliminates ballast failure as a maintenance point, reducing long-term service calls. It is not dimmable, so circuits requiring variable light levels should use a different solution. Buyers needing a four-pin base or integrated ballast compatibility should select another model.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 6 W LED produce when it runs all day?

The lamp draws only 6 watts, so heat output is low and there are no moving parts to create noise during continuous operation.

Does the GX23 base require an existing ballast or can it run directly on 120-277 V mains?

It is a Type B ballast-bypass lamp; the existing ballast must be removed or bypassed and the fixture wired directly to 120-277 V.
