Sato SG112-ex 300 DPI Printhead

This genuine Sato printhead is a direct replacement for the SG112-ex thermal label printer operating at 300 DPI. It restores original print quality for barcode and label production environments. The R19978000 part number ensures exact compatibility with the specified printer model.

Thermal Operation and Power

As a thermal printhead, it generates heat only during the printing cycle to form images on label media. Power draw scales with the volume and density of labels produced in normal use. Acoustic output is limited to the printer's paper transport mechanism rather than the printhead itself.

Questions about this item

How do I install the R19978000 printhead in my SG112-ex and which step is most often done incorrectly?

Power off the printer, open the printhead latch, remove the old head, align the new R19978000 unit with the guide pins, seat it firmly, close the latch until it clicks, then reconnect the data cable — the step most often missed is fully latching both sides before powering on.

What maintenance or replacement will the R19978000 printhead need over its service life?

Clean the 300 dpi heating elements regularly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab to prevent residue buildup; replace the printhead when print quality degrades despite cleaning or if individual dots fail permanently.
