The Schneider Electric 22 mm mushroom momentary pushbutton is a metal-bodied industrial control device rated IP66 and NEMA 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 13. It carries certifications including UL 508, CSA C22.2 No. 14, IEC 60947 series, DNV, GL and LROS. The 60 mm black mushroom head provides a distinct tactile target for emergency or heavy-duty start functions.

Panel Mounting and Wiring Requirements

The operator installs through a standard 22 mm cut-out and secures with a metal bezel, leaving the contact block and wiring to be selected separately for the application. Its metal construction resists impact per IEC 60068-2-27 and vibration per IEC 60068-2-6, while the IP66 seal protects internal contacts from dust and powerful water jets. No legend plate is included, so labelling must be sourced to match the control scheme.

Replacing Worn or Non-Compliant Operators

This unit replaces damaged or obsolete 22 mm mushroom heads that no longer meet IEC 60947-5-5 or environmental ratings required by the installation. The jump is worthwhile when the existing device lacks the IP66 or NEMA 4X rating, shows metal fatigue, or fails verification to standards such as IEC 60529 and JIS C8201-5-1. It is not suited for applications requiring maintained action, illuminated heads or integrated legend plates.
