Thermal overload relay protects motors from 0.11 to 0.16 A with automatic or manual reset and 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts
The Schneider Electric LR2K0301 is a three-pole thermal overload relay designed for direct mounting onto compatible TeSys Deca and TeSys K contactors. It provides adjustable motor protection with a current setting range of 0.11 A to 0.16 A and features both automatic and manual reset options for operational flexibility. The unit uses screw clamp terminals for secure wiring connections.
This relay operates as a thermal overload device rated for Trip Class 10A, responding to sustained overcurrent conditions to protect connected motors. The signalling circuit is rated for up to 690 V AC and 250 V DC, ensuring compatibility with standard industrial control voltages. Auxiliary contacts are configured as 1NO/1NC for integration into control circuits.
Under continuous overload conditions the thermal element trips according to the Class 10A curve, preventing motor damage from prolonged excessive current. Direct contactor mounting simplifies panel assembly and reduces wiring requirements for builders assembling motor starters. The transparent housing allows visual inspection of the contact status and trip indicator.

Mount the relay directly onto a compatible TeSys Deca or TeSys K contactor using the integral direct-mount design. The step often missed is setting the current dial between 0.11 A and 0.16 A to match the motor full-load current before energising the circuit.
The thermal overload element may drift or fatigue after repeated trips, requiring full relay replacement. Periodically verify the screw-clamp terminal torque and inspect the 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts for wear or oxidation to maintain reliable signalling.
The Trip Class 10A thermal curve is the first limit; sustained current at the 0.16 A maximum setting will cause the relay to trip within the Class 10A time band to protect the motor windings from overheating.
