The Schneider Electric ZB5AK1253 is a short-handled illuminated selector switch designed for industrial control panels. It fits a standard 22 mm mounting hole and provides two maintained positions with a yellow plastic operator head and black plastic bezel. The switch is rated NEMA 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 13 and IP66, IP67, IP69, IP69K for demanding environments.

Panel Cutout and Wiring Checks

Verify that your panel has a 22 mm cutout and sufficient depth behind the mounting surface for the switch body and wiring terminals. Confirm the control circuit voltage and current match the contact block you intend to pair with this operator, as no cam or contact block is included. Ensure the enclosure rating meets at least NEMA 1 or IP66 for the intended location.

Replaces Worn or Damaged 22 mm Operators

This unit replaces an existing 22 mm selector switch that has become mechanically worn, corroded, or physically damaged in service. The upgrade is worth it when the original operator lacks the IP69K rating needed for high-pressure wash-down areas or when the colour coding must change to yellow for safety identification. It is not suitable for applications requiring momentary action, key operation, or more than two switch positions.
