Dual-Tube Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The SE Gemini II uses a 12AX7 input tube and a 12AU7 output tube to deliver a classic valve sound. Its cardioid polar pattern focuses on the source while rejecting off-axis noise. The unit ships with a dedicated power supply unit, a shockmount and a protective case for immediate studio use.

Sustained Session Performance

A selectable 0 or 10 dB attenuation pad manages high sound-pressure levels without distortion during long takes. The design maintains a dynamic range of 122 dB or 132 dB depending on the pad setting. Consistent tube operation is supported by the external power supply, keeping electrical impedance stable at 200 Ohms with a recommended load impedance above 1 kOhms.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the dual-tube design generate during long sessions?

The 12AX7 input and 12AU7 output tubes are housed in the external power supply unit, keeping heat and any tube hum away from the microphone body.

What connector and phantom power does the mic need from my interface?

The microphone connects to the included power supply via its dedicated multi-pin cable; the supply then plugs into mains power, so no phantom power or preamp input is required from your interface.
