Seagate Constellation ES 1TB 7200RPM SAS 64MB 3.5-inch internal hard drive

SKU CH-69HB-G21CQ

A 1 TB 7200 RPM SAS enterprise drive with 64 MB cache for 3.5-inch bays

  • Enterprise storage with 1 TB capacity and 7200 RPM speed
  • Fast data access via 64 MB cache buffer
  • Reliable SAS interface for server workloads
  • Standard 3.5-inch form factor fits desktop bays

1 TB enterprise hard drive

The Seagate Constellation ES provides 1 TB of storage on a 3.5 inch form factor with a 7200 RPM spindle. A 64 MB cache and SAS 6 Gb/s interface support steady data throughput for server and storage-array workloads. The drive is supplied new in retail or OEM packaging.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous operation the 7200 RPM spindle maintains consistent rotational speed while the SAS interface handles command queuing without the latency spikes seen in burst-only benchmarks. The 64 MB cache absorbs write bursts so sequential transfers remain stable across long backup or archival jobs. Vibration tolerance designed for multi-drive enclosures reduces performance variance when adjacent drives are active. Buyers needing higher capacity per bay or a different interface should evaluate other models.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Constellation ES 1TB get during continuous 7200RPM operation?

The 7200RPM spindle and SAS 6Gb/s interface are rated for enterprise duty cycles, and the 64MB cache helps buffer sustained writes to limit thermal spikes.

What host connector and cabling does the 3.5-inch SAS drive need to work?

It requires a backplane or controller with a standard SAS 6Gb/s port and a matching SAS data cable; the drive uses the industry-standard SAS power connector.
