Enterprise SAS Storage

The Seagate Constellation ES.3 ST3000NM0023 is a 3000GB 3.5-inch internal hard drive built for enterprise servers and storage arrays. It spins at 7200RPM with a 128MB buffer and connects via a SAS 6Gb/s interface. The drive is sold new and designed for continuous operation in multi-drive environments.

Suited for SAS Servers

This drive fits servers and RAID enclosures that accept a 3.5-inch SAS 6Gb/s connection. Buyers using motherboards or controllers without SAS ports cannot install this unit. Systems requiring a different physical interface or lower power profile should consider other options.

SAS 6Gb/s Interface

The single specification that determines compatibility is the SAS 6Gb/s interface. A compatible SAS host bus adapter or RAID controller with a matching port is mandatory for the drive to function. Without this specific connection the drive will not be recognised by the system.
