Enterprise storage drive

The Seagate Exos X24 ST20000NM007H is a 20 TB SAS hard drive built for 12 Gb/s server and storage arrays. It targets data-centre operators and IT teams who need high-capacity bulk storage in a 3.5 inch form factor.

Thermals noise and power

The drive operates within standard enterprise temperature and acoustic envelopes for 24-bay chassis deployments. Power draw scales with workload intensity and matches typical 20 TB helium-sealed SAS designs.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ST20000NM007H into a SAS backplane, and which step do people often miss?

Slide the 3.5 inch drive into the hot-swap bay until the SAS connector seats firmly; the step most people miss is tightening the retention screw or lever so vibration cannot unseat the 12 Gb/s link.

What maintenance or replacement will the Exos X24 20 TB drive need later?

The helium-sealed 20 TB mechanism requires no internal service; plan replacement only when SMART attributes report reallocated sectors or the five-year rated workload limit is reached.
