Capacity and Purpose

The Seagate Exos X24 ST24000NM002H is a 24TB 3.5-inch internal hard drive built for enterprise NAS and hyperscale cloud storage. It targets operators who need maximum capacity per drive bay for massive scale-out data centers and high-density RAID arrays.

Interface Limits

The SATA 6.0Gb/s interface caps sustained throughput below what the 7200 RPM platters can deliver during large sequential transfers. Average latency sits at 4.16ms and the 512MB cache helps smooth burst workloads but cannot overcome the bus bottleneck.

Installation Checks

Verify your chassis accepts a 26.1mm tall 3.5-inch drive and that your backplane or HBA supports SATA 6.0Gb/s. The helium-sealed design requires no special mounting orientation but the 550TB annual workload rating assumes enterprise-grade cooling and vibration damping.
