  • 5 inch small form factor fits dense server bays
  • Includes IBM system caddy for direct installation

IBM V7000 compatible 1.2TB 10K SAS drive

This new 2.5 inch SAS hard drive delivers 1.2TB of storage at 10000RPM for IBM V7000 storage systems. It uses a 6Gbps SAS interface and ships with the required IBM system caddy for direct installation. The drive suits administrators expanding capacity in existing V7000 enclosures.

Replaces failed or missing V7000 1.2TB SAS spindles

It matches the original 00AR327 00AR400 00AR480 part numbers so the array recognises the drive without firmware mismatches. The upgrade is worth it when a slot is empty or a drive has dropped from the RAID set. It is not for buyers who need larger capacities or faster flash media.

Sustained 10000RPM throughput in multi-drive arrays

The spindle maintains its rated speed under continuous read and write streams typical of V7000 workloads. Dual-port SAS connectivity preserves path redundancy during heavy I/O. The included caddy ensures consistent airflow alignment in densely packed 2.5 inch bays.

Questions about this item

Will the included IBM caddy fit a standard 2.5-inch SAS bay?

The drive ships in an IBM system caddy designed for 2.5-inch SAS bays, matching the 1.2TB 10000RPM ST1200MM0007 form factor.

How do I install the drive and caddy, and what step is often missed?

Insert the caddy into the bay until the SAS connector seats on the backplane, then lock the caddy handle; the step often missed is fully engaging the latch.

What maintenance or replacement should I plan for this 10000RPM SAS drive?

Treat it as a mechanical drive: monitor SMART data, keep firmware current, and budget for replacement after the 1-year warranty or when reallocated sectors appear.
