Enterprise SAS Hard Drive

This Seagate Constellation ES.3 drive delivers 3TB of storage on a 6Gb/s SAS interface with a 7200RPM spindle and 128MB cache. It is built for 3.5-inch server bays and carries enterprise features such as Drive Self Test and Background Media Scan. The unit is sold new in a lot of 10.

Server and Array Builders

The SAS interface and firmware are designed for RAID controllers and backplanes found in rack servers and storage arrays. Desktop PCs and consumer NAS units without a hardware SAS adapter cannot use this drive. Buyers who need a single drive for a workstation or home system should select a different model.

6Gb/s SAS Interface

Compatibility depends entirely on the presence of a 6Gb/s SAS host bus adapter or a backplane that supports this protocol. Without that specific connection the drive will not function. Confirm the controller and cabling in the target chassis before purchasing.
