Product Identity

This is a set of two white bell-shaped lamp shades made from natural linen with a PVC inner lining. Each shade measures 12 inches across the bottom, 6 inches at the top and 8.5 inches tall. They use a screw-on fitter with a .43 inch thread designed to sit on a harp and secure with a finial. The pair weighs .798 kilograms total and requires no assembly.

Light Diffusion Under Extended Use

The linen fabric allows light to pass through evenly while softening glare, maintaining consistent diffusion whether the lamp runs for a short period or all evening. The PVC lining protects the fabric from heat emitted by the bulb, so the shade retains its shape and colour over repeated daily use. No degradation or yellowing is described for normal operation.

Thermal Behaviour and Power Impact

Because the shade is passive, it adds no noise and draws no power of its own. The open top and bottom allow warm air to escape naturally, keeping the fabric at a safe temperature around typical household bulbs. The metal spider frame remains stable and does not conduct enough heat to become a handling concern during normal use.

Questions about this item

Does the shade material trap heat when the bulb runs all day?

The linen fabric and PVC inner lining let light pass through while remaining cool to the touch during extended use.

What fitting does my existing lamp need to hold these shades?

Each shade uses a screw-on spider fitter with a .43 inch thread that sits on a harp and secures with a finial; both harp and finial must already be on the lamp.

Will the 12 inch bottom diameter cover the harp on my older table lamp?

The 12 inch wide bell shape typically clears standard harps on medium table and floor lamps, but measure your harp height to be sure.
