Upgrade from the base campaign

The expansion replaces the standard grand campaign with a focused AD 533 narrative centred on the Western Roman Empire's last stand. It introduces five playable factions and a huge new campaign map that changes victory conditions and pacing. The jump is worth it when you want a story-driven challenge with fresh mechanics rather than another sandbox run. Players without the base game cannot use this content.
