Anniversary Launch Edition

This Anniversary Launch Edition is a new handheld gaming accessory from Sega that brings the Super Monkey Ball series to Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles. Players control AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, Baby, YanYan and Doctor through hundreds of stages and minigames. The package suits fans who want the complete collection on current Xbox hardware. It is not for buyers who need a portable console or a standalone controller.

Build integration

The accessory plugs directly into an Xbox One or Xbox Series X system and requires no extra power supply or adapter. It adds 300 stages from three classic titles plus 12 minigames such as Monkey Racing and Monkey Bowling. Four-player local co-op and online leaderboards are built in, freeing the player from buying separate party-game cartridges. The comic-style story mode and character customisation run entirely on the host console.

Sustained play

Extended sessions load level after level without disc swaps, keeping the monkey gang rolling through mazes and mini-games. The game engine maintains steady performance across solo runs and four-player local matches. Online leaderboard updates continue in the background while you play. The accessory has no battery or cooling system of its own, so it relies on the console for all sustained operation.

Questions about this item

How many stages can I clear before the campaign ends?

The package includes 300 stages drawn from the first three Super Monkey Ball titles, so the solo campaign finishes once those levels are completed.

Does the cartridge or console fan get loud during a full afternoon of local co-op?

This is a software title for Xbox One and Xbox Series X; any fan noise or heat comes from the console itself, not from the game card.

Which Xbox model do I need to already own for this edition to run?

The Anniversary Launch Edition is built for Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles, so one of those systems must be in your setup.
