Seiko SLP850 thermal label printer

The Seiko SLP850 is a direct thermal barcode and label printer built for desktop shipping, inventory and retail labelling. It prints at up to 120 mm/s with a 300 dpi resolution, producing crisp barcodes, text and graphics on continuous or die-cut media. USB and Bluetooth interfaces let it connect to a PC, tablet or mobile device without a wired network. The compact mechanism suits small workspaces and mobile carts.

Automatic cutter and dual connectivity

An integrated automatic cutter separates each label cleanly, removing the need for manual tearing and speeding up batch printing. Bluetooth adds wireless flexibility for mobile workers, while USB provides a stable wired link for fixed stations. No ribbon or ink cartridges are required, lowering ongoing supply costs. Buyers needing colour output, higher print widths or industrial duty cycles should consider other product classes.

Questions about this item

How often does the print head on the SLP850 need cleaning or replacement?

Thermal print heads on the SLP850 typically require periodic cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab; replacement is only needed after extensive use or physical damage.

What limits continuous printing speed on the SLP850 during long runs?

The 120 mm/s print speed and thermal mechanism mean heat buildup is the first limit during sustained high-volume printing.
