This 3U rackmount chassis holds sixteen front-access 3.5-inch drive trays plus three internal 2.5-inch positions. The 6Gb/s expander backplane uses Mini-SAS SFF-8087 connectors and adds temperature monitoring, SGPIO signalling and staggered spin-up. Seven full-height PCIe slots run vertically at the rear for add-in cards.

The chassis accepts standard 2U power supplies or CRPS redundant units up to 300 mm long, typically rated 400 W to 700 W.
