Compact Onion Slicing Set

The Shimmeroo Onion Slicer Holder set includes four individual tools, each measuring 4.13 by 3.07 inches. Every piece carries 15 stainless steel forks that grip produce firmly so it cannot roll while you cut. The ABS handle stays comfortable and sweat-resistant even with wet or oily hands. Protective caps cover the pointed forks for safe storage in a drawer or camping kit.

Capacity and Practical Limits

Each holder handles onions, shallots, cucumbers, apples, mangoes and firm tofu with consistent, paper-thin results. The 15 forks distribute pressure evenly across round or irregular vegetables such as sweet potatoes. The tool reaches its limit with very large cabbages or whole melons that exceed the 4.13-inch fork plate width. Hard root vegetables like raw carrots may also resist the forks unless pre-sliced.

Upgrade Path and When to Switch

This set replaces single-prong holders, loose fork guards or improvised towel grips that slip during repetitive slicing. The jump is worth it when you regularly prepare uniform rounds for salads, pickles or grill trays and want fingers kept well clear of the blade. It is not suited for buyers who need a mandoline-style adjustable thickness plate or a single large carriage that processes whole cabbages in one pass.

Questions about this item

Will the 4.13 x 3.07 inch holder sit steadily on my existing cutting board without sliding?

The ABS handle absorbs hand pressure and the 15 stainless steel forks grip the onion firmly, keeping the tool stable on any flat board surface.

How can I verify the 15 forks are aligned correctly before I start slicing?

Place an onion on the forks and press down; the tines should hold it immobile so the knife glides straight through for paper-thin rounds.

The pack lists 4 pieces — does that include the protective caps or must I buy covers separately?

Four holders come with fitted caps that snap over the 6.5 cm fork plates, so no extra purchase is needed for safe storage.
