Carry-On Roller V22 Core Unit
The Shimoda Carry-On Roller V22 Core Unit is a modular camera case designed for photographers and videographers who travel by air. It fits most airline carry-on requirements so gear stays onboard and secure. The doctor bag-style opening gives wide, unobstructed access while keeping a small footprint. Compatible with all Shimoda DSLR and Mirrorless Core Units for a fully customisable interior layout.
Capacity and Organisation
The roller accommodates a multi-DSLR kit with two to five lenses plus a laptop. Side panel pockets run the full length of the bag; one side holds travel documents and a phone, the other fits larger items such as a water bottle. Compression straps on both sides secure the contents. Water-repellent Carbonate PU-coated ripstop nylon protects equipment from the elements during transit.
Upgrade Path
This core unit replaces a fixed-layout camera bag when you need airline-compliant dimensions and modular flexibility. The jump is worth it if you regularly carry multiple camera bodies and lenses and want to reconfigure the interior for each trip. It is not suited for buyers who need a larger checked-bag solution or a non-rolling backpack form factor.

How can I verify the roller meets my airline's carry-on limits?
