105mm WR Protector Filter

The Sigma 105mm WR Protector Filter is a camera accessory designed to safeguard the front element of compatible lenses. It suits photographers who want a clear, colourless filter that does not alter colour reproduction during regular use. The filter threads onto 105mm filter threads and maintains a slim profile to avoid vignetting.

Water oil repellent antistatic coating

The filter surface repels water drops and resists oil, making it easier to wipe away rain, splashes or fingerprints. An antistatic treatment prevents microscopic dust from clinging to the glass, which helps keep the lens clean in outdoor or dusty environments. These coatings work together to maintain optical clarity without affecting exposure.

105mm thread compatibility

This filter only fits lenses with a 105mm front filter thread; it cannot be used on lenses with smaller or larger thread diameters. Photographers needing a different thread size must select a matching filter instead. No step-up or step-down rings are included.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Sigma 105mm WR Protector Filter without trapping dust?

Clean the front element first, then align the filter threads and turn clockwise until it seats firmly; the antistatic coating helps repel microscopic particles during fitting.

What maintenance will the 105mm WR Protector Filter need over time?

Wipe with a microfibre cloth when smudges appear; the water- and oil-repellent surface resists fingerprints, so cleaning is infrequent and no re-coating is required.

At what point does the 105mm filter show its limit during long shoots?

The slim frame prevents vignetting on wide angles, so the first practical limit is heavy rain or spray overwhelming the water-repellent coating, not mechanical interference.
