Ultra-Wide Zoom for Canon EF

The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art Lens is built for Canon EF full-frame and APS-C DSLR cameras. It suits landscape, architecture and interior photographers who need an expansive perspective. The bundle adds a backpack, memory card and card reader for a complete field kit. Constant f/4 aperture maintains consistent exposure across the zoom range.

Focal Range and Optical Limits

On full-frame the lens covers 12 to 24mm; on APS-C bodies the equivalent range is 19.2 to 38.4mm. One SLD and five FLD elements with three aspherical lenses control distortion and chromatic aberration to the edges. The fixed f/4 maximum aperture limits low-light shutter speeds and shallow depth of field compared to faster ultra-wide primes.

Upgrade Path and Fit

This Art lens replaces variable-aperture kit zooms or older wide-angle zooms that show soft corners and colour fringing. The step up is worth it when you need professional edge-to-edge sharpness and a constant aperture for architectural work. It is not for shooters who require a faster maximum aperture or a longer telephoto reach.

Questions about this item

Will the 12-24mm focal range cover the same field of view on my APS-C Canon body?

On APS-C the lens provides an equivalent view of 19.2-38.4mm, so it remains ultra-wide but narrower than on full-frame.

How can I verify the Hyper Sonic Motor is focusing quickly and silently after mounting?

Half-press the shutter; the lens should lock focus almost instantly with no audible whirring, and the focus ring stays responsive for manual tweaks.

Does the bundle include a protective filter or do I need to buy one separately?

The bundle supplies the lens, a backpack, a memory card and a card reader; a protective filter is not included and must be purchased separately.
