14mm f/1.8 Wide-Angle Prime for L-Mount

This Sigma Art lens is a 14mm f/1.8 wide-angle prime built for full-frame Leica L-mount cameras. It delivers an ultra-wide field of view combined with a fast maximum aperture. The optical design targets high resolution and strong correction of aberrations. The bundle adds a lens pouch, blower, cleaning pen, cloth and starter kit for maintenance.

FLD SLD glass and aspherical elements control

Three FLD and four SLD elements suppress chromatic aberration and colour fringing. Four aspherical elements, including a large-diameter front element, reduce distortion and spherical aberration. Super Multi-Layer Coating cuts flare and ghosting in strong light. A Hyper Sonic Motor provides fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override.

Suits astrophotography and low-light wide scenes

The fast f/1.8 aperture and 14mm focal length serve night-sky, architecture and interior shooters who need wide coverage and light gathering. Photographers requiring zoom flexibility or longer focal lengths should consider other lenses. The fixed wide perspective does not suit portrait or telephoto work.

Questions about this item

What aperture limit controls depth of field and light gathering on this 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens?

The aperture range runs from f/1.8 to f/16, giving you a bright f/1.8 maximum for shallow depth of field and low-light work, and an f/16 minimum for extended depth of field when stopped down.

How does the Hyper Sonic Motor behave during extended shooting sessions in terms of noise and heat?

The Hyper Sonic AF Motor delivers fast, smooth and quiet autofocus with full-time manual override, and its ultrasonic design runs cool even during long continuous use.

Which camera bodies can I mount this L-mount lens on without an adapter?

The brass bayonet mount fits Leica L, Panasonic L and Sigma fp full-frame cameras directly, so you only need one of those bodies to start shooting.
