Ultra-wide 15 mm APS-C lens with bright f/1.4 aperture, 13 elements in 11 groups, and compact 62.8 mm, 240 g design

  • Stunning clarity from 13 elements in 11 groups
  • Bright low-light capture with f/1.4 maximum aperture
  • Expansive 83.6° view for landscapes and architecture
  • Swift autofocus keeps fast subjects sharp
  • Ultra-compact 62.8 mm length and 240 g weight

Exceptional Image Quality

The lens uses 13 elements in 11 groups with 1 FLD, 3 SLD, and 3 aspherical elements to deliver outstanding clarity and detail. This optical construction corrects aberrations across the frame for professional-level sharpness in every shot.

Wide Aperture Advantage

The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture captures detailed images in low light, making it ideal for astrophotography and indoor scenes. Its fast design also enables shallow depth of field for creative subject separation in portraits and video.

15mm APS-C Wide Angle

The fixed 15mm focal length provides an 83.6-degree angle of view, equivalent to 22.5mm on full-frame or 24mm on Canon RF Mount. This expansive perspective suits landscapes, architecture, and immersive storytelling, not telephoto or macro work.

Questions about this item

Will the 13-element optical group need any periodic cleaning or servicing?

The sealed 13-element construction with FLD, SLD and aspherical glass requires no scheduled maintenance; occasional front-element cleaning with a blower and microfibre cloth is sufficient.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide open at f/1.4 for extended periods?

At maximum aperture the 15 mm design shows mild vignetting and corner softness that diminish when stopped down, so the aperture itself is the first practical limit.

How much heat does the 240 g barrel generate during all-day video recording?

The lightweight polycarbonate body stays near ambient temperature because the STM focus motor draws minimal power and there is no image-stabilisation unit to add heat.
