Compact Wide-Angle Prime for APS-C

The Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary is built for Canon RF-mount APS-C cameras. It delivers a 24mm full-frame equivalent field of view in a body that is 62.8mm long and weighs 240g. The fast f/1.4 aperture suits street, travel, video and low-light work where mobility matters.

APS-C Image Circle Limits Full-Frame Use

The DC optical formula covers the APS-C sensor only. On a full-frame Canon RF body the lens will vignette heavily or require a crop mode that discards resolution. The fixed 15mm focal length offers no zoom flexibility, so framing changes mean moving your feet.

f/1.4 Aperture Gives Low-Light Headroom

The bright maximum aperture gathers significantly more light than typical kit zooms, enabling faster shutter speeds and shallow depth of field at 15mm. At 240g it stays light on a gimbal or during long walk-around sessions. The 58mm filter thread accepts standard circular polarisers or ND filters for video exposure control.

Should I choose the 15mm or 16mm focal length for APS-C?

The 15mm gives a 22.5mm full-frame equivalent on Canon RF and is 30% shorter and 50% lighter than the 16mm F1.4, weighing 240g at 62.8mm long.

What does the f/1.4 aperture deliver on an APS-C sensor?

How does the Canon RF mount affect the wide-angle view?

On the RF mount the 15mm lens yields a 24mm full-frame equivalent angle of view, matching the listed APS-C crop factor for this system.
