An ultra-wide 17mm zoom lens for mirrorless cameras with f/4 maximum aperture and Sony E mount
The SIGMA 415965 is a 17mm F4.0 DG DN prime lens built for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its ultra-wide field of view suits landscape, architecture and interior photographers who need a compact, high-quality optic. The constant f/4 aperture keeps exposure consistent while maintaining a portable form factor.
Photographers moving from slower kit zooms or variable-aperture ultra-wide zooms gain a fixed f/4 maximum aperture across the frame. The jump is worth it when edge-to-edge sharpness and distortion control matter more than focal-length flexibility. The minimum aperture of f/22 provides deep depth of field for scenic work.
The DG DN optical design maintains performance during prolonged shooting sessions such as time-lapse sequences or video work. Auto focus operates quietly and smoothly for continuous recording. The lens accepts front filters for creative control without vignetting at this ultra-wide focal length.

The lens uses the Sony E mount, so it attaches directly to any full-frame or APS-C mirrorless body with that mount without an adapter.
Align the white mounting index on the lens barrel with the matching mark on the camera, then twist until the lock clicks; forgetting to seat the index fully leaves the electronic contacts misaligned.
The front glass element and the rear mount contacts are the only user-serviceable surfaces; keep the glass free of dust with a blower and microfibre cloth, and wipe the gold contacts occasionally with a dry swab.
