Sigma 24-35mm f/2 Art Lens

This Sigma Art lens covers a 24-35mm focal range on Nikon F mount cameras. It maintains a constant f/2 aperture throughout the zoom for full-frame shooting. The kit includes an 82mm UV filter for front-element protection. It suits photographers wanting wide-angle coverage with bright, consistent exposure.

Replaces Three Prime Lenses

The constant f/2 aperture lets this zoom replace separate 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm prime lenses in a kit. The jump is worth it when you need to change focal lengths quickly without swapping glass. On DX bodies the equivalent range becomes 36-52.5mm for normal-field work. The aperture stops down to f/16 for deeper depth of field.

Focus and Filter Constraints

The lens focuses as close as 11 inches for near-subject detail. An 82mm filter thread accepts the included UV filter and other large-diameter accessories. Autofocus speed relies on the Hyper Sonic Motor built into the barrel. The optical design uses FLD and Special Low Dispersion elements to control aberrations across the zoom range.

Questions about this item

What size front filter thread does the Sigma 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM Art Lens accept?

The lens takes 82mm filters, and the kit includes an 82mm UV filter that screws directly onto the front element.

How do I mount this lens on my Nikon F-mount body, and what is the common mistake?

Align the lens mount index with the camera’s mount index, then twist clockwise until it clicks; the step people miss is setting the aperture ring to its locked position before shooting.

When will the Hyper Sonic AF motor or internal optics need professional service?

The Hyper Sonic AF motor is sealed and requires no routine maintenance; only a heavy impact or moisture ingress would justify a professional overhaul.
