SIGMA

SIGMA 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Canon EF-M with ProOptic 52mm Filter Kit

SKU CH-S1PZ-QTWAD

A large-aperture F1.4 standard prime lens for Canon EF-M cameras, bundled with a 52mm filter kit and accessories

  • Large f/1.4 aperture enables shallow depth of field
  • Stepping motor delivers fast and smooth autofocus
  • Rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates pleasing bokeh quality
  • Extra-long hood supplied reduces flare and protects glass
  • ProOptic 52mm filter kit included for immediate lens protection

Lens Purpose

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens mounts directly on Canon EF-M bodies and delivers a fast standard view for APS-C shooters. Its bright f/1.4 aperture suits photographers who want shallow depth of field and reliable low-light capability without flash.

Bundle Impact

The ProOptic 52mm filter kit adds front-element protection and basic creative filtering straight out of the box. Included cleaning fluid, cloths, a pouch, cap keeper and Mac software bundle keep the glass clean and the workflow organised from day one.

Capacity and Limits

At 30mm the lens covers everyday portraits, street scenes and tabletop work with a natural perspective on EF-M cameras. The fixed focal length means no zoom flexibility, and the APS-C image circle will not fill a full-frame sensor if you later migrate to a larger format.

Questions about this item

Will the 52mm ProOptic filter need replacing if the coatings degrade?

The 52mm filter protects the front element; if its coatings wear or the glass scratches, simply unscrew it and fit a new 52mm filter.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide open at f/1.4 for long sessions?

At f/1.4 the shallow depth of field is the immediate limit; stopping down increases the zone of acceptable sharpness.

Does the stepping motor or aperture mechanism generate noticeable heat or noise during extended video recording?

The stepping motor provides fast, smooth and quiet autofocus, so heat and noise stay minimal even during long video takes.
