Constant f/1.8 aperture telephoto zoom for APS-C Nikon F cameras covering 50-100mm with 82mm filter thread, weighing 4.52
The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 Art DC HSM is a constant-aperture telephoto zoom built for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras. It covers a 50-100mm focal range with a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture throughout. The optical design uses a high-refractive index element and low-dispersion glass to suppress aberrations and colour fringing. Super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting in backlit scenes.
The barrel measures 82mm in filter thread diameter and weighs 4.52 units, giving a dense, balanced feel on compatible bodies. A ring-type HSM autofocus motor drives focusing quickly and quietly, with full-time manual override available by turning the focus ring. The Nikon F mount uses an electronic aperture linkage, so aperture control is handled from the camera body. The lens ships with a petal-type hood that locks in place to shield the front element.
This lens projects an APS-C image circle, so it is not suitable for full-frame Nikon bodies unless the camera is set to DX crop mode. Confirm that your camera uses the Nikon F mount and supports AF-S type autofocus, as the lens relies on an in-lens focus motor. The 82mm filter thread requires correspondingly large filters or a step-up ring for smaller systems. No tripod collar is included, so extended handheld shooting may be tiring for some users.

The maximum aperture stays at f/1.8 from 50 mm to 100 mm, so shutter speed and ISO do not need to change when you zoom, and depth of field remains consistent throughout the focal range.
The lens uses an 82 mm filter thread; circular filters screw directly onto the front barrel and the supplied petal hood locks onto the same thread via its bayonet mount.
Connect the dock to the lens mount, plug the dock into a computer via USB, run the Sigma Optimization Pro software, select the lens, then click the firmware update button — the step many skip is powering the dock before attaching the lens.
