A compact 56mm f/1.4 mid-telephoto lens for Nikon Z APS-C mirrorless cameras, bundled with a 55mm filter kit and cleaning accessories for a complete portrait setup
The Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is built for Nikon Z cameras with APS-C sensors. It suits photographers who want a bright, short telephoto for portraits, low-light events or everyday detail work. Buyers needing full-frame coverage or a zoom range should look elsewhere.
The constant f/1.4 maximum aperture gathers ample light for handheld shooting in dim conditions and creates smooth background separation. A stepping motor drives autofocus quietly and smoothly, making the lens practical for both stills and video recording.
The barrel stays compact and light, balancing well on smaller Z bodies. A 55mm front thread accepts the included filter kit and standard screw-in accessories without an adapter. The supplied pouch, cleaning kit and cap tether keep the outfit organised during daily carry.

Align the white mounting index on the lens barrel with the white dot on the Z-mount flange, twist clockwise until it clicks, then remove the rear cap before shooting; forgetting the rear cap is the common error.
The STM motor is sealed and requires no lubrication; keep the 55mm filter threads clean with a soft brush and avoid cross-threading when attaching or removing filters.
The camera body's internal heat limit will trigger recording stops before the lens itself reaches any thermal constraint.
