58mm WR UV Filter for lenses

The Sigma AFC9B0 is a 58mm ultraviolet filter designed to block UV light that can cause bluish haze in bright outdoor conditions. It serves as a protective layer for the front element of compatible lenses against dust, moisture and accidental contact. The filter is intended for photographers and videographers who shoot regularly in sunlight and want to preserve optical clarity.

Water, oil repellent and antistatic coating

A specialised coating repels water droplets and resists oil, allowing fingerprints and smudges to be wiped away easily. The antistatic property reduces the attraction of microscopic dust particles to the glass surface. Together these treatments keep the filter cleaner for longer during outdoor use and reduce the frequency of cleaning required.

For shooters needing front-element protection

This filter suits anyone who wants a colourless, high-transmission guard for a 58mm thread without altering colour reproduction. It is not for users whose lenses have a different filter thread size, nor for those who require creative effects such as polarisation or neutral density. Buyers needing a filter for a non-58mm diameter should look at other options.

Questions about this item

How does the UV filter change image quality when fitted to a lens?

It cuts the bluish cast that strong sunlight can add while leaving colour reproduction neutral, so images stay crisp without a colour shift.

What does the water and oil repellent coating actually stop in daily use?

The coating makes water bead off the glass and resists fingerprints, so rain, splashes and handling marks wipe away cleanly.

Which lenses accept this filter without an adapter?

Any lens with a 58 mm front thread screws straight onto the filter.
