77mm lens protection filter

The Sigma 77mm Protector Filter is a clear optical filter designed to shield the front element of compatible camera lenses from dust, dirt and scratches. It is intended for photographers who want a permanent protective layer without altering the optical characteristics of their lenses.

Colourless glass maintains image fidelity

The filter uses colourless glass that does not affect colour reproduction or colour balance. This means the accessory can remain fitted during regular shooting without degrading image quality or introducing unwanted colour shifts.

Suited for any 77mm thread lens

Photographers with lenses that accept a 77mm filter thread gain a straightforward way to preserve the front glass. Shooters whose lenses have a different thread size or who prefer not to add any glass in front of their optics should look at alternative protection methods.

Questions about this item

Will the 77mm filter threads eventually need cleaning or replacement?

The glass can be cleaned repeatedly with a microfibre cloth and lens fluid; the aluminium frame and threads do not wear out under normal use.

What is the first limitation when the filter stays on the lens all day?

Vignetting may appear on ultra-wide lenses at the 77mm diameter, especially when stacking another filter.

Does the filter add noticeable heat or affect the lens during continuous shooting?

The clear glass transmits light without absorption, so it adds no measurable heat and does not change lens temperature.
