SIGMA 86mm WR Circular Polarizer camera filter

SKU CH-ESC4-CX7KW

An 86 mm circular polariser with water-repellent coating reduces glare and deepens colour saturation for lenses accepting that filter thread

  • 86 mm thread fits compatible lenses
  • Circular polarizer reduces glare and reflections
  • WR coating resists water and smudges
  • New condition ready for immediate use

86 mm WR Circular Polarizer

This SIGMA filter screws onto 86 mm filter threads and cuts reflected glare from non-metallic surfaces. The circular polarising layer lets autofocus and metering systems operate normally. A water- and oil-repellent coating on the front glass makes cleaning easier in damp or dusty conditions. Photographers who need to deepen blue skies or see through water and glass will find it useful.

Capacity and headroom

The 86 mm diameter fits lenses with matching threads; step-up or step-down rings are required for any other thread size. The filter provides up to two stops of light reduction when rotated to maximum effect, so exposure compensation or a slower shutter speed is needed in low light. It does not add colour correction or neutral density beyond the polarisation effect. Users who need variable ND, graduated filtration or threads larger than 86 mm must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 86mm thread fit the lenses I already own?

The filter uses an 86mm thread, so it attaches directly to any lens with the same diameter; check the front of each lens for the Ø86 marking before mounting.

How can I verify the polarizer is working after I screw it on?

Rotate the filter while looking through the viewfinder or LCD — reflections on glass or water should darken and colours deepen at the strongest position.
