72mm WR UV Filter for lens protection

The Sigma 72mm WR UV Filter shields the front element from dust, moisture and accidental knocks. Its water and oil repellent coating makes cleaning quick and the antistatic layer reduces dust attraction. Photographers who want a clear protective filter for everyday shooting will find it fits 72mm threads.

Sustained outdoor use and frequent cleaning

The hydrophobic and oleophobic surface maintains clarity after repeated exposure to rain, spray or fingerprints. Antistatic properties keep particles from clinging during long sessions in dry or windy conditions. The coating resists degradation from regular wiping better than uncoated glass. Shooters who need specialised effects such as polarisation or neutral density should choose a dedicated filter instead.

Questions about this item

Does the 72mm WR UV Filter generate any noise, heat or draw power when left on the lens all day?

The filter is a passive glass element with no moving parts or electronics, so it produces no noise, no heat and consumes no power during continuous use.

What thread size must the lens already have for this 72mm filter to screw on directly?

The lens needs a 72 mm front filter thread; the filter mounts directly onto that thread without additional adapters.
