SIGMA Petal-Type Hood LH756-01

This petal-type lens hood is designed exclusively for the SIGMA 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens. It attaches via a bayonet mount to shield the front element from stray light and physical contact. Photographers using this specific wide-angle zoom gain flare reduction and added protection in a single accessory.

Check lens model before ordering

Verify that you own the 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens, as the LH756-01 hood fits only this model. Confirm the bayonet mount on your lens barrel is clean and undamaged to ensure a secure lock. No tools are required for installation, but compatibility is limited to the stated focal range and series.

Adds flare control without filter threads

The hood blocks oblique light that causes ghosting and contrast loss on the 16-28mm zoom. Its petal profile matches the wide field of view, preventing vignetting at the 16 mm end. The bayonet mount leaves the filter thread free for circular polarisers or ND filters while the hood remains in place.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a mount adapter separately?

The box contains the petal-type hood LH756-01; it attaches directly to the 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens via its bayonet mount, so no separate adapter is required.

Should I choose a different hood version for the 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens?

This LH756-01 model is the dedicated petal-type hood made for the 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens; there is no alternative version listed for this lens.

How does the petal shape affect flare when I shoot wide at 16 mm?

The petal profile blocks stray light from entering the wide-angle field of view, reducing flare and ghosting while keeping the hood corners out of the frame at 16 mm.
