Converts 10/100Base-TX copper to 100Base-FX multimode fibre via ST connector and supports wall or chassis mounting
The SIGNAMAX 065-1100 converts 10/100BaseT/TX copper signals to 100BaseFX multimode fibre using an ST connector. It is designed for installers and network managers who need to extend Ethernet links beyond the standard copper distance limit. The unit supports wall or chassis mounting for flexible deployment in structured wiring environments. It provides a single port for point-to-point media conversion.
The converter operates at 100 Mbps over multimode fibre, so it cannot carry Gigabit or higher traffic. Multimode fibre reach is limited by the 100BaseFX standard, typically restricting links to around two kilometres. The copper side auto-negotiates 10 or 100 Mbps but offers no PoE capability. Users requiring longer distances or higher bandwidth must select different hardware.
The compact enclosure measures 4.85 by 3.25 by 1 inches and weighs 1.7 pounds, allowing easy wall mounting with basic hardware. A common issue is mismatching the ST connector polish type or using single-mode fibre, which will not work with this multimode unit. Ensure the copper cable does not exceed 100 metres before the converter. No software configuration is required.
