Remote HDMI and USB Extension

The SIIG HDMI KVM extender sends 1080p video and USB signals up to 230 feet over a single Cat6 or Cat7 cable. It also carries 4K at 30Hz up to 130 feet. A USB keyboard and mouse at the remote unit control a computer connected to the local unit, making it suited for digital signage, server rooms or classrooms where the display must sit far from the source.

Sustained Signal Integrity

Zero latency is specified for the 1080p link at the full 230-foot distance, so mouse movement and keystrokes remain responsive during long sessions. The 10.2 Gbps bandwidth supports PCM, Dolby and DTS multi-channel audio without compression artefacts. HDCP 1.4 and HDR 10 compliance ensures protected 4K content at 30Hz plays continuously without handshake drops over the 130-foot span.

Metal Housing and Port Layout

A metal enclosure provides ESD protection for the transmitter and receiver modules. The remote side offers three USB Type-A ports: two dedicated to HID keyboard and mouse, the third for the host connection such as a laptop or desktop. A reset button on the unit allows a quick link restart without power cycling the cable run.

Questions about this item

Does the extender generate noticeable heat or fan noise when running continuously?

The unit uses a passive metal housing with no fan, so it runs silently and produces minimal heat during all-day operation.

What cables and display do I need to have on hand before this extender will work?

You need a single Cat6 or Cat7 cable between the transmitter and receiver, an HDMI cable for the display, and a USB cable to connect the host computer.

Will my older 1080p monitor and USB 2.0 keyboard work with this extender at the full 230-foot distance?

Yes, 1080p at 60Hz is supported up to 230 feet, and the USB Type-A ports accept standard HID keyboards and mice including USB 2.0 devices.
