- Requires DisplayPort 1.4 GPU supporting more than three external screens; not compatible with macOS
What it is and who it is for
This MST hub lets Windows users attach three HDMI monitors to a single DisplayPort 1.4 output on a compatible graphics card. It is built for productivity setups that need extended desktop, mirrored output or a combined video-wall layout. The adapter draws its power from a USB 3.0 port and requires no driver installation on supported Windows systems.
The specification that decides compatibility
A DisplayPort 1.4 GPU that supports Multi-Stream Transport and can drive more than three external screens is mandatory. Intel integrated graphics are limited to three screens total, so they cannot add three additional displays through this hub. MacOS does not support MST at all, making the device unusable on Apple computers.
What the bundled power requirement changes
The hub must be connected to a USB 3.0 port because USB 2.0 cannot supply enough current to run the three HDMI outputs. Without that 3.0 connection the adapter will not function, so a free USB 3.0 socket on the host system is a hard prerequisite for operation.

Questions about this item
What does the DisplayPort 1.4 rating mean once the hub is connected to my PC?
It lets a single DP 1.4 output drive three HDMI monitors using Multi-Stream Transport, provided the GPU supports more than three external displays.
Which USB standard is required to power the adapter and what happens with an older port?
USB 3.0 is required; USB 2.0 or earlier cannot supply enough power to run the hub.
What physical connections does the hub need to fit my setup?
One DisplayPort 1.4 input from the GPU, three HDMI outputs for the monitors, and a USB 3.0 port for bus power.
