SIIG, Inc

SIIG, Inc JU-P70211-S1 7-port USB 3.0 PCIe 2.0 network card

SKU CH-R5ME-D42FZ MPN JU-P70211-S1

Adds seven USB 3.0 ports via a PCIe 2.0 slot with UASP support and Molex power

  • Seven USB 3.0 ports expand connectivity for multiple devices
  • PCI Express 2.0 host interface fits standard desktop slots
  • UASP support accelerates data transfer with compatible drives
  • Molex power input delivers stable current to all ports
  • New SIIG card adds high-speed USB to a PC

Seven USB 3.0 ports via PCIe 2.0

The SIIG JU-P70211-S1 adds seven USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express 2.0 slot. A Molex connector supplies the extra power required for multiple simultaneous devices. It suits builders expanding connectivity on an older motherboard.

Practical limits of PCIe 2.0 bandwidth

The host interface is PCI Express 2.0, so total throughput across all seven ports shares that generation's lane capacity. Heavy concurrent transfers on several ports will contend for the same bus ceiling. UASP support helps reduce protocol overhead for attached storage.

PCI Express 2.0 host interface decides fit

The card requires an available PCI Express 2.0 or compatible slot and a free Molex power lead from the supply. Systems lacking either cannot use the adapter. Buyers who need more than seven ports or a different host bus should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 7-port version or a smaller card for my build?

This card provides exactly seven USB 3.0 Type-A ports plus a Molex power connector, so pick it when you need that many simultaneous connections.

What does the PCIe 2.0 host interface actually deliver for USB 3.0 speeds?

The PCI Express 2.0 link supplies enough bandwidth for all seven ports to run at USB 3.0 rates when UASP mode is active.

Does the PCIe 2.0 slot limit the USB 3.0 throughput in practice?

UASP support lets the card sustain full USB 3.0 performance across the PCIe 2.0 interface without a protocol bottleneck.
