Connects three DisplayPort monitors to one 1.4 output using MST for extended, mirrored or video-wall modes; requires USB 3.0 power and a GPU that supports three external screens
The SIIG Triple 4K DisplayPort 1.4 MST Hub Splitter connects three DisplayPort monitors to a single DisplayPort 1.4 output using Multi-Stream Transport technology. It supports Mirror mode, Extended mode and Panoramic Video Wall mode for productivity setups. The hub requires a GPU that supports more than three external screens and draws power from a USB 3.0 port. MacOS is not supported.
This hub upgrades a single DisplayPort 1.4 output into three independent video streams, removing the need for additional graphics cards or docking stations. The upgrade is worthwhile when your GPU supports more than three external displays and you need simultaneous extended desktops. Intel HD Graphics limited to three total screens cannot drive three extra monitors through this device. USB 2.0 ports cannot supply sufficient power.
Under continuous use the hub maintains three 4K streams through the DisplayPort 1.4 link without dropping to lower resolutions. The USB 3.0 power delivery remains stable during extended sessions, preventing the port-power brownouts that affect lesser-powered splitters. Fanless aluminium housing dissipates heat passively so thermal throttling does not occur during all-day workloads. MacOS systems will only mirror displays regardless of load.

No published specifications for this item yet.
It requires USB bus power from a USB 3.0 port; USB 2.0 or earlier does not supply enough power to drive the hub.
Connect the USB 3.0 power cable first, then attach the DisplayPort 1.4 input and the three display outputs.
The hub will not operate on USB 2.0 because it cannot deliver sufficient power; a USB 3.0 port is mandatory.
