SilverStone SST-FG142 140mm Fan Grill

The SilverStone SST-FG142 is a 140mm fan grill with 24 integrated addressable RGB LEDs. It turns any 140mm fan or mounting point into a programmable light source while protecting the blades. The frame is designed for maximum airflow and fits universally across 140mm fans.

For builders adding per-LED lighting to existing

This accessory suits enthusiasts who want individual LED control on a current 140mm fan without replacing it. It is not for systems that lack a 5V addressable RGB header or a compatible external controller. It is also not for mounts that cannot accept a 140mm frame.

24 addressable RGB LEDs on a 140mm frame

The decisive specification is the 24 individually addressable LEDs built into a 140mm grill. Each LED can display its own colour, enabling complex gradients and effects driven by a 5V ARGB header or control box. Without that control path the grill functions only as a standard guard.

Questions about this item

Will the 140mm grill fit the 140mm fan I already own?

The frame is universally compatible with any 140mm fan, so your existing unit will mount directly onto it.

How can I verify the 24 addressable RGB LEDs are each responding to my motherboard software?

Run a per-LED test pattern in your RGB control software; each of the 24 diodes should cycle colours independently if the 5 V addressable header is connected correctly.

Does the SST-FG142 package include a 5 V addressable RGB controller or must I supply one?

The box contains only the fan grill with the integrated 24-LED strip and mounting hardware; a separate 5 V addressable RGB control box or compatible motherboard header is required for operation.
