8GB DDR2 kit for DFI LP DK 790GX-M2RS

This kit provides 8GB of DDR2 memory in four 2GB modules built for the DFI LANPARTY LP DK 790GX-M2RS motherboard. Each stick uses a 240-pin DIMM form factor and runs at 800MHz with PC2-6400 and PC2-6300 ratings. The set is supplied as new and is 100% compatible with the target board.

Sustained-load behaviour of four-module DDR2

Populating all four slots at 800MHz places a continuous load on the memory controller and the DDR2 bus. Under prolonged workloads the modules maintain their rated PC2-6400 and PC2-6300 speeds without dropping to lower frequencies. Builders who need more than 8GB or a faster memory standard will need a different platform.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 800 MHz DDR2 kit generate when running all day?

The four 2 GB DDR2 DIMMs operate at 800 MHz with standard DDR2 voltage, so typical heat output stays low during continuous use.

What motherboard slot is required for these 240-pin DDR2 modules?

The kit needs a desktop board with four DDR2 DIMM slots that accept 240-pin modules at 800 MHz (PC2-6400/6300).
